Project Statement
Shock’Em is a startup platform that allows collectors to buy, sell, and trade products, including our own products and other items. As the founding UX/UI Designer, I was responsible for creating a responsive web experience tailored to the needs of both casual and dedicated collectors.
Throughout the design process, I worked closely with developers, the product manager, and the CEO. My contributions included conducting user research, developing user personas, designing wireframes, and building both low- and high-fidelity prototypes.
Design Overview
We create a user-friendly platform for collectors to help them navigate through our platform more efficient and intuitive.

Brainstorming
Our primary focus was the user. We needed to deeply understand the collectors’ needs and pain points. Given the wide range of features—selling, buying, trading, making offers, and collecting—our team collaborated to determine how to design a platform that could support these functions effectively.
Guiding Questions:
Who is our target users?
What motivates users to collect, sell, buy, or trade?
Which features (selling, buying, trading, etc.) are most important to users on a daily basis?
How can we ensure the platform performs smoothly even with feature complexity?
Competitive Analysis
In the research step, I did the competitive analysis for existing trading card platforms.
Conducted market research to identify trends, user pain points and opportunities.
Analyzed competitor platforms to understand their strengths and weaknesses.

User Interviews
We conducted interviews wih 5 collectors to gain insights into their experience, needs, and pain points. These interviews revealed key features they are interested in and directly informing our design approach.
Prototype
Based on the provided branding and logo, I developed a design system that included a variety of UI components such as dropdown lists, filters, buttons with different states, color selectors, and other elements specific to the trading experience.

Wireframes
While designing the website wireframes, I focused primarily on functionality, layout, and user flow—ensuring that the experience was smooth and intuitive. After several meetings with stakeholders, I refined the logic and features based on their feedback and then developed the final prototypes.
Protoypes
I worked closely with the product manager, developers, and CEO to bring the project from wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes, ensuring alignment with the overall design system. Throughout the process, I actively incorporated team feedback to improve usability and maintain consistency
Collaborated with key stakeholders across design and development
Translated wireframes into polished, functional prototypes
Maintained consistency with the existing design system
Iterated based on ongoing feedback to refine the user experience
Filters
Many collectors focus on building complete sets, such as game card series, so having the ability to save custom filters is essential. This section allows them to store frequently used filters for future sessions and easily apply or remove them as needed.
Item Detail Page
This page displays detailed information about the item, including a list of available listings from all users, a comprehensive description, relevant tags, and its sales history.
Profile
On the profile page, users can edit their personal information and view their account balance, with options to withdraw funds to a bank or deposit from one.
This page also provides an overview of the user’s items, activity history, and saved filters.
